Donate to bring Secular Holiday Advertising to Philadelphia!
Due to the great success of a secular holiday bus ad campaign by the American Humanist Association (read the press release), PhillyCOR has adopted this concept for the 2008 winter season, and will install a mini-billboard at the Free Speech Zone located at 6th and Market Streets in Philadelphia on the lawn adjacent to the National Constitution Center.
To this date, only two displays are highlighted at the Free Speech Zone: a giant Menorah and a Crèche (nativity
scene). PhillyCOR’s billboard will be the only secular display to promote humanist values; to educate the public about the nontheist lifestance in order to dispel negative stereotypes about nontheism; to promote critical thinking; and to reach out to other nontheists in the community. Passersby will be reminded that the United States of America is not simply an exclusively Judeo-Christian country; that a strong united minority of nontheists exists in America.
